On 19 May we attended the IP in Education Network meeting to disseminate the CounterRisk project. The meeting was held in Paris and organised by the French National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI). 50 people attended in person and almost 60 online. The Network, composed by representatives from the education ministries of the EU Member States, national IP offices and other relevant bodies in education, is working to introduce IP concepts in the different educational stages of EU countries and share good practices for IP teaching.
Our colleague Encarna Alemañ from AIJU presented the CounterRisk project at the event. AIJU was invited to the meeting as the leader of the SAFEorFAKE? project, in which educational materials are being developed to educate and raise awareness among students and Primary School teachers about the importance of IP to society and the risks posed by counterfeit toys to health, the environment and the economy.
The meeting agenda also included a visit to the Musée de la Contrefaçon from the Union des Fabricants (UNIFAB) and an informal social event to exchange ideas and good practices among the members of the Network.
